If you love the ‘Cream of Manchester’, then you’ll love this. With Boddington’s back on cask at the oldest remaining Boddington’s pub, The Black Friar is marking it with a one-night-only Boddies Dinner built around proper food, beer history and a few pints for good measure. Chef Ben Chaplin’s four-course menu will feature dishes like Boddington’s glazed short rib with pickled mooli and chilli salad, a Northumberland cheese toastie with Boddington’s pickle, and an aged British beef burger topped with Boddington’s rarebit, alongside paired wines, a welcome drink, a pint of Boddies and a cocktail to finish. There’ll also be talks exploring the beer’s Salford roots and its place in Manchester drinking culture.
