É Soul Cultura free party at Freight Island

Now in its fifth year, Luke Una’s free É Soul Cultura parties at Freight have become appointment raving. And rightly so. Guests have included the likes of Erol Alkan and, poignantly, one of the last few sets from the late Keith McIvor, aka JD Twitch of Glasgow legends Optimo [Espacio]. Him dropping The Prodigy’s Out of Space as a gentleman climbed up the staging rig will live long in the memory. This year’s party will of course uphold this lofty standard. Luke will be joined on the ones and in all likelihood the twos by none other than Emmy-nominated producer, DJ and all-round journeyman David Holmes, local top talent Kath McDermott and Jon Da Silva, Metrodome b2b with Joey T, Maya Thompson b2b with Louie Wainwright, Jeni Chan and the Elody crew, who’ll be hosting their own Turn End Audio party-within-a-party.
