Hit & Run present Food 4 Thought Fest this weekend, raising funds for the people of West Bank and Gaza as well as donations for local Manchester food banks. The all-day event will raise money for the Doctors Without Borders (aka Médecins Sans Frontières) Gaza Regional Fund, who work on the ground and help displaced Palestinian civilians in neighbouring countries like Egypt and Jordan, to help heal their physical trauma. Artists on the line-up, who will be playing for free to aid the fundraising efforts, include Mr Scruff, Chimpo, Joey T, Shimrise and more.
Organisers said: “Manchester’s foodbanks have never faced such high demands for their services; as brutal cuts by the current government come into effect, supplies have never been as crucial for the most vulnerable amongst us. Also, as the Genocide against the Palestinian People and State now accelerates, it feels both essential to stand up and voice our outrage against this historic crime.”
