Manchester’s longest-running club night, the stately Funkademia, has taken up residence in many venues over the years, notably the legendary Boardwalk (RIP) and the Mint Lounge. Its new home will be the also legendary Deaf Institute – there’s a pattern emerging here – bringing the party funk, disco and soul to Oxford Road. Long may it continue.
