Graeme Park In Conversation with Arthur Baker at Freight Island

Two absolute legends on one stage, as Graeme Park goes deep in conversation with American record producer and DJ Arthur Baker. Previously having worked with the likes of New Order, Afrika Bambaataa and his own group Planet Patrol, the pair will chat about Baker’s career and superb new book Looking For The Perfect Beat, in association with Rock’n’Roll Book Club.

Graeme said: “I first met Arthur in New York in 1989 when he came to see me DJ at the Mars Club and we’ve been friend ever since. I vividly remember my mind being blown when I first heard Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force’s Looking For The Perfect Beat when it was released in 1983 around the time I started DJing at The Garage in Nottingham. When Arthur called me a few weeks ago to ask me to host his Manchester book launch I was honoured and thrilled and can’t wait to chat to him in front of an audience.”
