New photographic project Hope. Despair. Miracles. by Roxana Allison opens at Sale‘s Waterside venue on Saturday 27 January.
The exhibition celebrates the grassroots organisations and individuals that contribute towards positive change, especially in working-class multi-ethnic neighbourhoods. The project by the Mexican-British social documentary photographer features portraits, landscapes and written word showcasing the community in Longsight.
Running alongside the exhibition will be a series of workshops at Waterside, led by Lebanese theatre-maker and arts facilitator Nour Sabouneh, which will help people of all backgrounds and skill levels to use simple creative techniques to develop communication skills via friendly and fun shared group activities.
