Flawd welcome their first winemaker of the year to the marina this February. Silvia Tezza from Il Roccolo di Monticelli will join the Ancoats team for a special evening showcasing wine and olive oil from her estate in Italy.
The wines are made with local grape varieties including Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave and Corvina with no additions or filtration. Coming from an agricultural background, Silvia champions respectful agriculture and the need to preserve biodiversity. After her studies, Silvia took over a neglected plot owned by her family on the limestone hills of the Vallata di Mezzane, eastern Valpolicella, near Lake Garda. With support from her aunt and uncle, Silvia developed the vineyard using biodynamic practices growing the highest quality grapes with a strong connection to the land. The enclosed vines grow alongside ancient olive trees which she uses to make olive oil.
