Manchester Animation Festival is back for five days of screenings, premieres and behind-the-scenes talks with the biggest names in the business, from Disney and Netflix to Cartoon Saloon. Expect exclusive previews of Zootropolis 2 and Alex Woo’s upcoming Netflix feature In Your Dreams, alongside a 50-year retrospective on George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic. The festival’s packed programme also features the UK premiere of Arco (produced by Natalie Portman), Japan’s The Last Blossom and Mexican stop-motion gem I Am Frankelda, plus panels with Epic Games, Aardman and Flycheese Animation on innovation and inclusion in the industry. With workshops, student showcases, late-night screenings, and a glittering awards night hosted by comedian Alasdair Beckett-King, it’s a full-on celebration of the craft, creativity and community behind animation today.
