Manchester’s famous Christmas Parade returns this weekend with its biggest line-up yet, filling the city with dancing reindeer, towering fantasy floats, a giant polar bear, roaming sprouts, live bands and Santa riding in on the Elf Express. With new additions like the Candyland Castle and a swooping mythical dragon, plus community performers and street-wide surprises, it promises a proper feel-good spectacle as it sets off from Manchester Cathedral and winds through Victoria Street, Deansgate, John Dalton Street, Cross Street, Market Street, St Mary’s Gate and back again.
