Manchester’s very own day of celebrations returns on Sunday 26 July, this time with a Catalan twist. Following Manchester artists heading to the iconic La Mercè Festival in September last year, Manchester Day welcomes performers from Barcelona to kickstart the festivities. Alongside performances from the UK and Spain’s leading arts companies, Manchester Day 2026 will see the return of the Mini-Manchester Parade, with a book-inspired theme in line with the National Year of Reading, so expect storytelling and imagination to be woven throughout. Alongside the parade and performances, Manchester Day promises family-friendly activities and lots of surprises, including the opportunity to step inside a giant whale, roaming puppets and brass bands.
