This weekend, Ancoats tapas bar Maricarmen celebrate their first birthday at their home on Great Ancoats Street. Originally a pop-up, it has quickly become one of the neighbourhood’s favourite spots, with their famous £3.50 dish offering. On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 between 16:30 and 19:30, they’ll be giving away 1,000 free croquetas in celebration of turning one. On the menu is amon Ibérico, cabrales (Asturian blue cheese) and truffle croquettes – perfect for the Manchester heatwave.
