Masjid Uncles of the Front Row is a new exhibition presented by Practicing Empathy in Mirror and Studio Teski. The project explores The Masjid Uncle, which refers to elderly men who, out of respect, are referred to as uncle and occupy Muslim places of worship. The creators of the exhibition travelled around Manchester, London, Paris, Istanbul, Malta and Palestine photographing these seemingly universal figures, in order to shine a light on these interesting people who use mosques as a form of respite in their retirement.
