The MOBO Awards will arrive in Manchester for the very first time on Wednesday 26 March 2026, marking a landmark moment in the organisation’s 30th anniversary year. Hosted at Co-op Live, the UK’s largest live entertainment arena, the ceremony promises a major celebration of black music and culture, packed with standout performances, emotional tributes and the electric energy that has defined MOBO for three decades. It’s the first time the awards have ever been held in Manchester — a place with our own deep-rooted connection to black music, creativity and cultural influence. The move north marks a major moment for the MOBOs, bringing one of the UK’s most respected awards shows to a region that’s long been home to pioneering artists, venues and communities shaping the sound of Britain.
Founded in 1996 by Kanya King CBE, MOBO has played a vital role in elevating Black British music to the global stage, spotlighting artists across genres from grime and hip-hop to soul, jazz, reggae and R&B. Previous winners have included legends like Stormzy, Little Simz, Dave, Ms Dynamite, and Skepta — and with the awards coming to Manchester for the first time, this year’s show is set to be one of its biggest yet. Expect an unforgettable night of live music, culture and community in Manchester’s newest arena, as MOBO marks 30 years of history-making moments with a show that’s set to redefine what an awards ceremony can be.
