PROTEST! and CONDENSATION Short Film Premiere

As we approach Pride weekend, Manchesters Queer TV and Film festival SCENE, continues to provide. Exploring Manchester’s queer protest history and the shadow of Section 28, PROTEST! is a two-year long project exploring queer memory as a living form of protest, using Manchester’s 1988 anti-section 28 protest as a starting point. The film features oral histories from LGBTQ+ activists, artists and organisers as they continue to resist through remembering. Short film CONDENSATION will also be premiering. Featuring footage from last years SCENE Festival, the film follows a student in 2010s Manchester who wants to join the LGBT society but is shrouded in a literal cloud of doubt. One of SCENE’s more weighty screenings, this event is part premiere, part living archive and above all a celebration of LGBTQ+ people.
