For one night only, two giants of the Manchester bar scene go head to head in an epic Martini Battle. Hosted at Red Light, the two heavyweights will pit two of their martinis against each other. Hawksmoor bar manager David Cole, alongside Lucia Porcellato, will be representing team Hawksmoor. They will be presenting two iconic drinks, the Ultimate Gin Martini, consisting of Plymouth Gin, Dry Vermouth and Filicudi Lemon Oil, served straight from the freezer. Their second submission, the Steakhouse Martini is a shaken drink made up of Plymouth Gin, Chardonnay, Dry Vermouth, Green Peppercorn and Olive Brine.
They will go up against two of Red Light’s finest bartenders, who will also be competing with two drink options. Their Dirty Martini, consisting No3 Gin, Noilly Prat, Caperberry and Manzanilla Olive, as well as their Lychee Martini, made up of Grey Goose Vodka, Lillet Blanc, Lychee and Coconut. The winning team (the one who sells the most of their drinks) will take home a prize of a bar tab at the opponent’s venue, as well as the right to tell the world they’re serving the best martinis around. Martinis are being sold at £10 a pop, and the winner will be revealed at the end of the night.
