Few partnerships in electronic music carry as much weight as Sasha & John Digweed. The duo, who arguably defined the progressive house sound during their legendary residency at Twilo and through the seminal Northern Exposure mixes, are returning to Manchester for a bank holiday session that skips the usual 90-minute festival sprint in favour of a proper four-hour set. It’s a rare opportunity to see two masters of the craft actually settle into a groove and build a narrative, rather than just hitting the peaks.
The duo takes over IDRA on 24 May, occupying the prime afternoon-to-evening slot of 3pm until 11pm. While the venue provides the industrial backdrop, the draw here is purely the chemistry between two DJs who have spent three decades intuition-reading one another behind the decks. A true rarity. Expect a crowd that knows its history, layered melodies, and a masterclass in tension and release.
