Sprechen Cinema – a spin-off Manchester record label Sprechen – has been enthralling crowds with its live re-scoring of classic black & white movies for the past couple of years. Blending a mix of atmospheric electronica, goth-wave, drone, krautrock and other sonic curiosities over some of the most iconic films in movie history, Sprechen founder, DJ and producer Chris Massey and Supernature’s Richie V have juxtaposed movies like Nosferatu and Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, with the music of Demdike Stare, Arthur Russell and John Carpenter at venues like the Hebden Bridge Picture House and Manchester’s Cultplex.
