One of the best films to be released in 2025, Tim Key and Tom Basden’s The Ballad of Wallis Island gets a cosy screening at the Carlton Club in Prestwich (not to be confused with the one in Whalley Range). It’s the heart-warming story of lottery winner Charles (Key), who pays for his favourite folk duo – played by Basden and Carey Mulligan – to come and play on the remote island where he lives.
