Two much-loved pubs from either end of the country are coming together for one night only, as The George in Fitzrovia and the glorious Bay Horse Tavern in the Northern Quarter team up for a special bar takeover in partnership with Glendalough Distillery.

Taking place on Tuesday 10 March from 5pm to 9pm, the collaboration sees The George’s team step behind the bar at The Bay Horse Tavern, bringing their signature hospitality and sharp cocktail game to Manchester in line with the annual Northern Restaurant and Bar Show.

Glendalough will be the official spirit partner for the evening, with distribution from Mangrove UK, and the night will revolve around a tightly curated five-drink menu that showcases some of The George’s best-loved serves.

Expect a Red Snapper built around Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin, a Sticky Toffee Old Fashioned made with Glendalough Pot Still Irish Whiskey, Gibson Martinis served with Monster Munch on the side, and Guinness Boilermakers paired with Glendalough Double Barrel Whiskey. It is pub culture with a polished edge, but still rooted in fun.

Making the journey north for the first time is The George’s cult Irish Coffee, a serve that has built a loyal following in London. Made with Glendalough’s award-winning Double Barrel Whiskey, Origin Coffee, fresh cream and a house Guinness reduction, it is rich, balanced and unapologetically indulgent.

There is food too. A live oyster shucker will be in action throughout the evening, marking the first time oysters have ever been served at The Bay Horse Tavern and bringing a taste of Fitzrovia to the heart of the Northern Quarter.

It is a one-night crossover of two pubs that take their drinks seriously without losing sight of what makes a proper boozer work. Get down early, settle in, and order wisely.
