The world famous Black Pudding Throwing Championships returns to the streets of Ramsbottom this September. Local legend claims the tradition of chucking black puddings into Yorkshire puddings dates back to the War of the Roses, when the houses of Lancaster and York battled in Stubbins in 1455. According to the story, the troops ran out of ammunition and resorted to throwing food at each other instead. You can take part and put your throwing skills to the test in the Bury town on Sunday 8 September.
