the new space is set to be one of Manchester’s most exciting new underground music venues.

The idea behind Fifty4 was to create a platform where local residents could perform in intimate spots across the city whilst also covering a variety of media content online via live streams, radio and studio mixes.

So far they’ve ran 5 parties at The Bagel Shop and their next one is taking place in the newly renovated upstairs space.

The name Fifty4 is in homage of the late, great Studio 54. It was started by Yeboah & Cassell earlier this year, and their aim is to create an outlet which was genreless, spanning multitudes of sounds over the years. Although Studio 54 was quite genre specific as it took place through the golden age of disco, it also had a somewhat ‘anything goes’ policy and that’s what they’ve tried to bring in regards to the styles of music they play and promote.

The Manchester collective presents their next concept Revolution 808, a celebration of electronic music and its rich heritage, one that certainly owes credit to that famous 808 sound itself. Their residents come armed with a wealth of dance music knowledge from past and present, from House to disco they are without doubt true multi genre selectas that possess a sound ready to set any dance floor alight with energy.
