A rabble of mischievous northerners, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners form a traditional New Orleans Second Line. However, this is no sombre occasion: Mr Wilson’s expend their collective musical talent paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda, 90s club culture and its greatest hero, Mr Tony Wilson.
Mr Wilson’s will be headlining the inaugural Northern Grip mountain bike festival on Saturday 23rd playing a number of sets throughout the day and evening.
Northern Grip organiser Tom Whitehead: “We’re very happy to announce Mr Wilson’s as headliners. We first spotted them playing at Kendal Mountain Festival and we decided then we needed to have them at Northern Grip. They will be the perfect addition during and after riding the amazing hills and trails around Ramsbottom. In addition the festival hub at the Civic Hall will have a full programme of activities with film screenings, DJs, Q&A’s with extraordinary riders, bike demos and, of course, great local food and ales. We'll also be throwing in some memorable surprises throughout the day."
The industrial backdrop of this northern town, located just 30 minutes drives from Manchester, is perfect to celebrate the joys of riding dirt. Ramsbottom is home to many a varied festival and Northern Grip continues this aspect. Northern Grip will celebrate the majestic mountain bike and what it can bring to people’s lives.
Team JMC, Kona and Alpkit are confirmed sponsors so far with more supporters and exhibitors signing up all the time.
The event is supported by National Trust, Cookson Cycles, The Met, Funkademia and The Venetian.
