The Fashion Network is a b2b networking portal that aims to connect professionals in the apparel industry, through events, editorial, networking and membership. The apparel industry is one of the fastest growing and is often perceived as one of the the most glamorous, so attracts thousands of new graduates every year.
Many students leave education with a good academic foundation and overall understanding of their chosen career path but generally lack the practical knowledge, skills and contacts needed to get a foot in the door. One of our on-going objectives is to support and nourish emerging talent by providing opportunities for this new generation to meet potential employers within the industry. Our next careers day is on 28th February 2013 in the Northern Quarter, Manchester.
This one day event includes a recruitment fair where attendees can meet employers like Matalan, Elvis Jesus and Ringspun amongst others. There will also be the Making it Series from 10am-6pm which will comprise of 45 minute talks with a panel of established brands and professionals on marketing, design, buying, styling, e-commerce, PR, graphics and how to make it on your own. The talks will be in a panel discussion format with a Q&A session from the audience. The recruitment fair and Making It series, brings together employers , students, graduates and anyone looking for a change of career and will feature brands and employers like Boohoo, Elvis Jesus, Matalan, Ringspun, Black White Denim, Cube3 Marketing, Democracy PR and Echo PR, to name a few! As a business owner I am fully aware it can be tough for companies to recruit the right talent. Now more than ever its important for any company to develop a team with creativity, drive and insight , to take our industry forward.
