Habitat’s Halloween party at Canvas

Friday 28th October
Taking over brand-new city-centre venue, Canvas, Habitat will transform the space into a horror house featuring a playlist of funk, trap, afrobeat, dancehall, amapiano, house and R&B. The line-up includes Yung Omz, Tone Rarri, AK Gramm and Faro plus a roster special guests.

Halloween Rave at The Loft

Saturday 29th October
Featuring a Manchester debut from Alex Dima and Cristian Sarde who will be representing their impressive party and label, Outcast Torino, The Loft’s Halloween Rave is set to destroy the dancefloor of the hidden den. Alongside the Outcast Torino, the event will see Josh Baker and mainstay brothers Local Dub take to the decks, along with an official debut for Paddy Lee who is the newest member of The Loft’s crew.

RAW Halloween Rave at Victoria Baths

Saturday 29th October
RAW returns to Manchester at the iconic Grade II Listed Victoria Baths next week. Taking over the incredible pool for a night of House music with special guest DJs, expect its signature high-level production in one of the most unique venues in the UK.

The Wytches at Deaf Institute

Sunday 30th October
Can you think of anywhere better to spend Halloween? The Wytches’ uncomfortable, crooked guitar riffs haunt their listeners, creating melancholic yet intriguing music that wouldn’t go amiss in a dark Ryan Murphy series. Part of the scene since 2011, their music bursts at the seams with screeching lyrics and spooky melodies, something that makes sense to unearth on the 30th of October.

Hit & Run Halloween special

Friday 28th October
Expect dark, freaky and twisted beats across three-floors of Hidden next Friday with a line-up featuring; JOHN B, SIMULA, GREY CODE, BILLAIN, JOE NICE, SCREAMARTS, GLADDE PALING, SAKU SAHARA, NIALLO, PRFCT MANDEM, FFINN, PORCELYN, NIMOTEK and REGENTS.

Girls On Film at Albert Hall

Friday 28th October
Hattie Pearson will be spinning all of the very best 80s hits alongside local legends and Feel Good Club wife duo Aimie and Kiera. Demonic drag divas Bailey J Mills and Barbs will be hosting Halloween lip sync sing-a-longs whilst hosts Adam Ali and Jaylin will be providing all the tricks and treats. And if that wasn’t enough, 80s icon Denise Pearson (Five Star) and a Madonna tribute will also be touching down at the Albert Hall for LIVE performances.

Fat Out Fest: Frixxxion with Blasha & Allatt, Esmé, Luke Daniels & Monas 

Saturday 29th October
This year’s ever morphing Fat Out Fest will take the form of a series of shows across some of Salford’s best loved cultural venues, celebrating the queer underground through intense, experimental and downright rowdy music and performance art. There’ll be drag acts, art shows, music, as well as karaoke dungeons and a three-course cabaret meal…

Halloween Week at GRUB

Wednesday 26th October – Sunday 30th October
GRUB is known for its star-studded spooky season, and next week it’s hosting seven days of frightful fun featuring food, drink, cinema and more! Wednesday sees GRUB’s monthly quiz take place with a Halloween theme, Thursday hosts a pumpkin carving competition, as well as a bottomless screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Friday is the family party that features a costume competition and Sunday sees a Simpson-themed pub quiz hosted, alongside cookie decorating with Drizzle City Bakes.

Ducie Street Warehouse’s Halloween Weekender

Friday 28th – Sunday 30th October
Kicking off the spooky weekend on Friday 28th October, acclaimed DJ, Scott Mills, will headline the lounge for a fantastic Halloween party, plus live performances from the talented Cequin Circus crew. Moving on to Saturday 29th October, the restaurant will host its famous disco brunch with a special Halloween theme ‘Dead Drag Disco Brunch’. Finishing off the weekend, Sunday 30th October will see a spooktastic family fun day for kids to enjoy complimentary Trick or Treat in the warehouse. 

Halloween Party at Behind Closed Doors

Manchester’s hidden dive bar, Behind Closed Doors is throwing a mischievous Halloween Boogie complete with dancing bunnies and loads more! Guests will also get Cazcabel shots and a chance to showcase their costumes as part of the bar’s spooky dress code.

Stranger Things party at Prestwich Social

Saturday 29th October
Prestwich Social is celebrating all things Stranger Things with a huge party the Saturday before Halloween! Expect live DJs, fancy dress and giant 80s inspired cocktails, as well as some of your favourite characters from the iconic TV series.

Tattu’s bottomless Skullduggery brunch

Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th October
Renowned for delivering unique experiential dining, high-end Chinese restaurant Tattu will be hosting a spooktacular Halloween brunch event soundtracked by the finest DJs and fuelled by Bloody Mary’s. Tattu’s exclusive Skullduggery Brunch will take place on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th October from 12-3pm and will serve up a four-wave menu of unique Asian-fusion dishes with terrifyingly good cocktail specials. For just £45 per person, diners can sit back and soak in the mystic atmosphere as spectacularly crafted dishes arrive in timely waves.

New Spooky Specials & a bottomless Halloween brunch at BAB

BAB has launched three new specials just in time for spooky season! Choose from the Ham Hock, Thai Monkfish or Mixed Mushroom Bab, which can also be paired with the restaurant’s exclusive Halloween cocktail – a short drink made using rum, lime, cranberry and grenadine. BAB is also throwing a bottomless Halloween party on the 29th October, where you can enjoy a 2-course meal with bottomless drinks for just £29.95 per person.

Zouk Halloween bottomless brunch

Saturday 29th October 
As part of Zouk’s Halloween bottomless brunch, each guest will enjoy two small plates of their choice from the menu, alongside bottomless Prosecco, cocktails or mocktails. The Bottomless Brunch will begin at 12:30 noon and end at 5:30pm. Each reservation is for 90 minutes long and don’t forget to dress up and tag Zouk in any pictures for a chance to win the restaurant’s fabulous Halloween competition.

Ghostly Goings On at Afflecks

Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th October
Afflecks, MCR’s trailblazing independent shopping emporium, will be transformed into a Halloween House of Horror, with plenty of spine-tingling activities happening to get everyone in the spooky spirit. Among the events, local foodie legends Kong’s have a pop up store over the entirety of the Halloween Weekender, and will be serving up hair-raisingly good burgers and tacos.  Rum liqueur connoisseurs, Witch Kings Rum, will also be giving visitors a peak into their magic emporium, with rum tasting classes on offer.

‘Howloween’ at Hatch

Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th October
Bring pooches along to Hatch to party with other four legged friends at Howl’oween taking place from 1-4pm on Sunday 30th October. The FREE event will have a Doggie Disco and even ‘pawsecco’ on tap. The street food space is also launching a Bottomless Brunch on Saturday 29th October between 12:30-3pm for guests to enjoy. The fancy dress theme for this year’s spooky brunch is ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and a £50 Hatch voucher is up for grabs for the best dressed.

Lost Souls supperclub at Firefly

Sunday 30th October
A night of twisted entertainment and DJs from 6pm until late, Firefly is offering a bottomless brunch drinks for 90 minutes on the Sunday before Halloween. Featuring signature cocktail specials and the restaurant’s devilishly delicious Supperclub platter, fancy dress is encouraged for the event that’s destined to put sophistication into spooky season.

Halloween Party at NQ64

Monday 31st October
Taking place from 7pm, this free entry party at NQ64 will feature Halloween games and prizes for best costumes courtesy of Jack Daniel’s, student and industry discounts all night long, as well as a new menu of curated Halloween cocktail specials. 

Bundobust’s Halloween specials

Monday 31st October – Friday 4th November
Back by popular-demand, Bundobust have confirmed the return of their much-loved Halloween treat, Pumpkin Samosas. The deep-fried green spinach and nigella seed pastry, filled with pumpkin and peas spiced with house garam massala, chilli and garlic will return until Friday 4th November.

Day of the Dead Party at Neon Tiger

Friday 28th October
Neon Tiger will be hosting a Day of the Dead-themed party with DJs, Fire Walkers, £5 Patron Margaritas and £3 shots available all evening long! The restaurant is also teaming up with Madre to create a Mexi-Thai food menu, giving away 500 free tacos on the night. To attend the party you will need to download a free ticket, and the evening will then be on a first come first served basis, so it’s recommended to get down early!

Pumpkin picking at Mrs Downsons Pumpkin Patch

A starting point of any good Halloween is a massive pumpkin to carve, and Mr Downsons Farm Park provides just that! The Pumpkin Festival features new characters, new autumnal activities, and tasty food and drink for an afternoon of family fun, alongside a huge field full of pumpkins to pick and take home! 

Scare Skate at Cathedral Gardens

Friday 21st – Monday 31st October
Scare Skate will welcome spooky loving friends and families to take to the ice for a frightful experience to remember! One of the iconic MCR monsters will take centre stage at the rink as part of the annual Halloween in the City event. The rink will be complete with Halloween-themed music and lighting and will bring frightfully good fun to half term festivities.

Fiendish Family Fun at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House

Sunday 23rd October, Wednesday 26th October, Thursday 27th October and Sunday 30th October
October half term is the perfect time for families to visit Elizabeth Gaskell’s House with Halloween crafts, cuddly cats playing hide and seek, ghost stories and a new permanent exhibition about Elizabeth’s life as an author at the heart of Victorian society to enjoy. Children can make a Halloween bat decoration to take home with them, too. All of the crafting will take place in the Servants’ Hall and is included within the admission cost.

Manchester’s Monsters return to the city

Tuesday 25th October – Monday 31st October
The Manchester Monsters are back for 2022 with their biggest invasion to date! 14 monsters will take over the city’s streets and rooftops including Manchester Arndale, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, AO Arena, NOMA and St Ann’s Square. Created by artists Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, the monster trail marks for a great day of family fun!

Manchester Ghost Tour: City Centre Exploration

Embark on a quest around Manchester by solving clues that will take you to the most haunted places in the city, all with the help of your smartphone. Unlock new stories as you discover on your own Manchester Cathedral, Palace Theatre, Albert Square, and more. Each clue will lead you from one place to another, giving you exact directions, so you won’t need a map, a GPS, or a guide. When you solve it and guess the answer, the secret story of that place is unlocked.

Halloween in the City at Harvey Nichols

Tuesday 25th  – Monday 31st October
Visit Harvey Nichols Manchester from 25th – 31st October to spot the store’s menacing monster ‘Horrible Harvey’ and be in with a chance of winning £250 to spend on Kidswear. The East Lancashire Railway’s ghost train

Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th October
The Halloween Ghost Train is back to haunt the East Lancashire Railway at the end of the month! There will be tricks, treats and fun for the whole family, as guests are joined by the likes of Count Brian the Vampire, Veronica the Witch, a Zombie called Bob and more curious creepers.

Spellbinding Halloween at Merseyway Shopping Centre and Redrock

Saturday 29th October
Families are invited to grab their broomsticks this October and head to Merseyway Shopping Centre and Redrock in Stockport for some wicked Halloween celebrations. From 12pm – 3pm, pop along and hunt for clues to complete the trick or treat trail. Each family who completes the trail will be able to participate in games of Spin to Win, where you can spin the wheel to win trick or treat prizes with Merseyway’s very own witches, Olga, Tabatha and Prudy.

Good Life Skates’ Rocky Horror Picture Show Party

Saturday 29th October
Good Life Skates will host The Rocky Horror Picture Show to present the annual Transylvanian convention on the rink from 12pm until 10pm next Saturday. Featuring the classic Time Warp for roller-skaters to jam into, the Halloween special will also present a mash-up of soundtracks from Stranger Things, American Psycho and more.

New Century Spooktacular Sunday

Saturday 29th October
Kicking off the fun at New Century’s Spooktacular, New Century’s Witches Coven will be teaching spooky dance routines in the music hall between 2pm and 4pm. Getting in on the action, the ‘scary squad’ will be roaming the halls on the day, too. Frightful face painting, a bogey man bouncy castle, photobooth and kids food and drink will be available, with the NOMA team on hand hosting spooky workshops throughout.

Rocky Horror Picture Show screening at Backyard Cinema

Monday 31st October
The cult classic musical is screening at Backyard Cinema on the day of Halloween, with fancy dress encouraged! The new immersive cinema, which sits on top of Mayfield Depot, offers an immersive cinema experience that is more than just the movies. Audiences can expect to be transported on a magical journey, exploring movie-grade sets, tunnels of trees and magical doors…

Pumpkin flower arranging workshop at Northern Flower

Thursday 27th October
Taking place from 6pm – 8pm, this Halloween-themed workshop will see guests carve their very own pumpkin that will then be filled with a beautiful bouquet of Autumnal flowers (both fresh and dried). All tools and materials will be provided by Northern Flower, including the pumpkin. No experience necessary, just a warm jumper and the desire to get stuck in!

FilmFear 2022 at HOME

Thursday 27th – Monday 31st October
Film4’s FilmFear returns to HOME on Halloween for five nights of strange, scary and unsettling cinema. This time around, the cinema is approaching the genre from a different angle – there’s less hardcore horror, fewer traditional bogeymen and blood remains unspilt. Instead, the English landscape holds dark secrets in three films, while emotional haunting is at the heart of another spirited trio.

Let The Right One In at Royal Exchange Theatre

Saturday 22nd October – Saturday 19th November
Enchanting and brutal, chilling and beautiful, John Ajvide Lindqvist’s cult novel LET THE RIGHT ONE IN finds a new home on the unique stage of the Royal Exchange Theatre this Winter. In a world where adults are failing them, two teenage outsiders are drawn to each other. One a bullied, isolated teenage boy, the other a feral, lonely and dangerous vampire. And so begins a chilling and unlikely friendship. Separated by centuries and rejected by society they find salvation in each other. 

Sprechen Cinema: Nosferatu

Monday 31st October
An unauthorized and unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula, Nosferatu is horror personified and is a perfect representation of German Expression cinema of the 1920’s with scenes and imagery which have defined horror movies over the decades. This showing will be shown on 4k remastered blu-ray and will feature a live reinterpretation of the soundtrack by Sprechen’s Chris Massey & Richie V from Supernature, both who will be digging through their extensive music collection to curate a chilling accompaniment for this evening of horror.
