Showcasing the best of the region’s independent craft artists and local food producers, the market takes place in the stunning backdrop of the Baronial Hall at Chetham’s School of Music.

Whether searching for gifts, decorations, home wear or fashion accessories visitors will be able to begin, and possibly complete, their Christmas preparations at the Manchester WI Festive Fair.

Arts, Crafts and Food Stalls
This inaugural fair is a festive celebration of arts, crafts and food, as well as a creative showcase of the region’s most imaginative and skilled artists and designer-makers.

There will be a host of unique artists and makers selling handmade and vintage items on the day including: jewellery, textiles, fashion accessories, ceramics, cards, artisan food and much more, at prices for all pockets.

The fair also sees the launch of the Manchester WI 2013 calendar, featuring designs and art works inspired by iconic Manchester women, from Emmeline Pankhurst and Ethel “Sunny” Lowry MBE (the first British woman to swim the English Channel) to modern day icons such as Victoria Wood.

Bespoke headwear created by The Cheshire Hat, one of the many North West exhibitors at the fair.

The venue
The Grade I listed Baronial Hall at Chetham’s School of Music, in central Manchester, will be transformed into a veritable treasure trove of locally made gifts and artworks from stallholders from across the North West.
Dating back to 15th Century, Chetham’s is a unique and atmospheric location for a festive day out, where you can find the most wonderful creations and unique handmade gifts just in time for Christmas.
Free entry

We invite friends of the Manchester WI, both old and new, to enjoy browsing the vast array of food and craft stalls. Entrance to the fair is free and there will be lots of entertainment and refreshments provided throughout the day.
Taking place in the lead up to Christmas, the Manchester WI is seeking to provide shoppers with an alternative to the high street, and to provide support and opportunities to artists, designers and makers to exhibit, sell and promote their work and services directly to the public.

Manchester WI Charity
The purpose of our market event on 9th December 2012 combines many of our passions – the support of local and independent businesses, bringing women together & raising money for charity. Proceeds from the event will be donated to, ‘Paws For Kids’, the North West Charity designed to support women, children and their pets escape from a life of violence and abuse to a better and caring future.
