Most of you will know Irvine Welsh as the writer of Trainspotting, one of the best movies of the 90’s and certainly one of the best books of the 20th Century. He’s also responsible for penning many more novels including Filth, Glue and Skagboys.

This Wednesday 19th December sees Irvine head on down to Electrik in Chorlton, to take over their One Deck evening of drinks and music. He’s been invited down to play whatever he wants in entirety with no mixing, headphones, scratching or beat juggling, just to concentrate about the music.

Finishing off a jam-packed year that has included Miranda Sawyer, Dennis Bovell, Jane Weaver and many more – this should be the perfect end to a bumper 2018 for Electrik, and the perfect place to start looking towards 2019.

P.S. Word on the street is that January’s One Deck guest will be none other than Mayor of Manchester – Andy Burnham. More details to follow.
