Saturday October 20th sees the start of a new club night in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, one that aims to put some real rock ethic back into the city’s scene.

Taking over the legendary Night & Day Cafe on Oldham Street, Ramalama is a far cry from the usual electronically focused nocturnal haunts. Set to become a monthly fixture in the area’s weekend diary, those responsible are promising to help expose some of this country’s abundant talent via regular sets from rising stars.

The inaugural installment will see critically acclaimed Sheffield guitar types Section 60 playing tracks, alongside The Nankeens (who some may know under their former guise, Shanty Town). Meanwhile, Darktown Jubilee will complete the triple live offering, with resident DJ Paul Langley prepared to polish things off. Not bad for £3, marking this out as a party well worth knowing about.
