Declan McKenna
Manchester Academy – Friday 6th April 2018
After winning the prestigious Glastonbury prize for emerging talent in 2015, 18-year-old McKenna was most famous for his self-released protest song ‘Brazil’. He has been gradually rising to the top ever since and his multi-instrumental talent, intelligent lyrics, and Indie-rock sound have created him quite the following.

It is safe to say that the young man is not afraid to approach controversial topics head-on. His second single ‘Paracetamol’ tackles how transgender teenagers are misrepresented in the media, another roaring success.

He later released his debut album ‘What do you think of the car?’ earlier this year, and after a summer filled with festivals, he will be dropping into Manchester Spring 2018. It’s safe to say we cannot wait.
