Independent Manchester artist OneDa will be headlining the BBC Introducing takeover at Festival Square this Wednesday 10th July.

Set to be joined by up-and-coming local talent such as Liam Frost, Argh Kid and The Mouse Outfit, the evening is set to be a showcase of Manchester’s burgeoning music scenes and a chance to get to grips with some potential future megastars.

OneDa’s melodic tones, skilful wordplay combined with her consistently catchy choruses and her distinct voice, overall delivers a sound unique to herself. This makes OneDa far more than your average rapper.

She has been a part of the Manchester music scene for many years and was in a former female rap duo ‘Batz in the Belfry’ and has been championed by the likes of Huw Stevens and Alice Levine (BBC Radio 1), and more recently DJ Target, (BBC 1xtra) who recently put her forward as one of his ‘High 5’ acts to watch out for in Manchester.

Since OneDa’s return to the Manchester music scene just under 2 years ago she has fast made her mark as a leading urban female artist in the city, and has recently formed an ALL female rap collective ‘HERchester’ alongside Reform Radio.

She has been made a Patron of the ‘Music Venue Trust’ and is the first rapper to do so, alongside big named artists like Sir Paul McCartney and Elbow.
