Join Grey Lantern for a most righteous Bank Holiday Saturday as we plunder into the heart of student land with a weird and wonderful selection of artists, both new friends and old. 10 acts play across two venues, Trof Fallowfield + Wahlbar, with headliners Vision Fortune up from London to promote their thrilling new LP Mas Fiestas con el Grupo Vision Fortune, out on Gringo Records/Faux Discx (Hookworms, Cold Pumas, Sauna Youth).
Elsewhere there’s London analogue synth artist Meddicine, who can count a past release on local label Comfortable On A Tightrope among her canon, while the local picks reach into every corner of Manchester’s music scene, including SWAYS Records Naked (On Drugs), mighty purveyors of psych-rock Base Ventura and Laser Dream Eyes, the solo Grouper-esque work of SILVER and the scuzzed-up garage rock of duo Bad Grammar. Much underrated producer Vei also plays, while Cyril Snear front man Mike McKnight debuts his solo electronic-acoustic side project Sphelm and super new noiseniks Dinner Time (played their first gig this month) complete the bill!
