Grandmaster Flash, Levi Roots, The Heavy and Cuban Bros headline Grillstock Manchester.
Europe’s largest BBQ and Music Festival, Grillstock has announced the music bill for Manchester’s big weekend of meat, music and mayhem with Grandmaster Flash, The Heavy, Levi Roots and Cuban Bros all confirmed to play on 30th – 31st May 2015.
Bringing meat, mayhem and music to the city, Grillstock Manchester will be headlined by legendary New York DJ Grandmaster Flash as well as purveyors of sexy music, riotous comedy, and sensational dancing the Cuban Bros. Grillstock favourite, the inimitable Levi Roots will also be on hand, delivering some lunchtime reggae and soul whilst indie rock band, The Heavy headline the Sunday in Albert Square.
Festival goers can expect a smouldering hot US style low ‘n’ slow BBQ competition, chilli-pepper and hot-dog eating competitions, bands and DJ’s playing across two music stages. The US style ‘low and slow’ BBQ competition puts the teams through their paces as they show off their culinary skills over the smoky coals and battle it out to be crowned King of the Grill. The competition allows festival goers the chance to interact with the teams, taste the food and experience their passion for authentic barbecue. Increasing the heat, US BBQ veteran Dr BBQ aka Ray Lampe will oversee the judging. Food fans can also check out the Weber BBQ Academy, imported craft beer in a New York Dive Bar, bourbon dens and village of BBQ traders serving up pit-smoked meaty treats and Grillstock’s very own Pale Ale, which was created especially for BBQ.
For those who want to make the most out of BBQ, music and mayhem across the country, Grillstock Bristol (11th – 12th July) will feature the hip hop stylings of De La Soul on Saturday night, supported by Welsh favourites and undisputed stars of last year’s Manchester festival, Goldie Lookin Chain. Local boys from Bath, neo-soul and rock band The Heavy headlineing Sunday with DJ Yoda returning to the Bar Stage after a storming set in 2014. Grillstock London (5th – 6th September) will be headlined by indie rock band Razorlight, supported by festival favourites and Grillstock veterans Hayseed Dixie. Saturday’s soundtrack in Chestnuts Field, Walthamstow will feature legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash as he plays an eclectic set, followed by the sexy sounds and Latino chest hair of the Cuban Bros and DJ Yoda in the Bar Stage, with more special guests still to be announced.
