New food festival with top Michelin-starred chefs and live music coming to Manchester

A brand new food festival featuring top chefs, live fire cooking and music is coming to Greater Manchester in May.

The Fields To Fork festival will be setting up at Whitebottom Farm, in the Etherow Country Park just outside Stockport, on 3 and 4 May.

A celebration of British produce and British farming, it will showcase the best the country has to offer, with a team of award-winning chefs turning up for the weekend.

Among them will be Lisa Goodwin-Allen, Great British Menu judge and formerly of the Michelin-starred Northcote, who will be taking to the Blok Live Fire Cooking Stage for both cooking demos and a Q&A session.

Joining her will be fellow Great British Menu star Aktar Islam, who has two stars at the critically accliamed Opheem in Birmingham, alongside fire cooking experts Holly Lou, James Peck, Marcus Bawdon and Masterchef: The Professionals champions Dan Merriman, Stu Deeley, Nikita Pathakji and Dan Lee.

Other chefs heading to Whitebottom include Lap Fai Lee, Jake Rossington, Alex McLaren, Jacqui Mock and Doug Crampton.

Over the weekend, 80 taps will be pouring beers from Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone Brewery, while the likes of Fold Bistro, in nearby Marple Bridge, Man BBQ, Tommy’s Pizza, Mac’s Shack, The Potting Shed and Demon Drinks will be keeping people fed and watered, alongside a host of artisan food stalls pitched up all weekend.

Meanwhile, homegrown and grassroots bands will be playing all day and into the evenings at the site’s famous covered barn stage, including Gondalas, Purple Cloud of Funk, Matt Hodges, Matt & Donal and Olta, with party tunes provided by the Landraver Defender.

The family-friendly weekend will also boast camping pitches for tents and vehicles.
