Each and every Wednesday at Electrik of Chorlton you can find some of the finest record collectors and crate diggers, who are invited down to play whatever they want in entirety with no mixing, headphones, scratching or beat juggling, it’s strictly just about the music.
As well as a grade-A selection of residents their special monthly guests have included the likes of Maxine Peake, Jerry Dammers, Steve Davis, Jane Weaver, Mr Scruff, Dennis Bovell & many more.
This month will see music legend Colin Curtis rock up with his collection on
Wednesday 30th May from 8.30pm.
Colin Curtis recently celebrated 50 years of DJing and was at the forefront of the Northern Soul and Jazz-Funk scenes of the 70’s. He was an integral player in bringing the Jazz-Funk and, subsequently, Electro sound to the city with the aid of his legendary ‘All-Dayers’ at The Ritz.
So head on down, it’s FREE and you can enjoy a fine selection of ales, craft beers, ciders and wine, as well as chow down on a brilliant Yadda Yadda kebab while Colin works his magic.
