Pangaea returns Thursday 7th June with a night celebrating the wealth of incredible people, places and parties our city has to offer. Get your summer off to a flying start with the likes of A Guy Called Gerald, S.P.Y, MC LowQui, Craig Charles, & more to be announced.

Pangaea Festival began in 2006 when an ambitious bunch of students from University of Manchester decided to throw an all-night party which provided both real variety and value for money. This thrice yearly festival has rapidly grown in popularity and size, and is now a key date in both the Manchester and national calendar.

Pangaea prides itself on curating an eclectic musical mix. The combination of the imaginative, creative and talented folk of the University of Manchester with the best up-and-coming talent from the North West, alongside internationally renowned headliners means Pangaea is like no other party in Manchester and beyond.

So whether its dub, bass, electronic, pop, garage, funk, grime, house, techno, big band or disco that’s up your street, you’ll find it when the festival takes over the Manchester Academy venues this June.

Pangaea has always been a production spectacular with high-level lighting creations, incredible decorations, silent discos, carnival processions and spectacular installations transforming spaces into themed masterpieces, as well as all manner of tipis, yurts, big tops and domes. Pangaea goers are costume lovers and over the years themes have seen a fleet of giraffes, stilt-walking aliens and human toadstools wander through the doors.

This year, Pangaea Festival is set to celebrate all things Manchester, with headliner A Guy Called Gerald hailing from our very own Moss Side. An iconic name in dance music, A Guy Called Gerald stands out for consistent innovation, excellence and refusal to compromise. A Guy Called Gerald kick started Europe’s acid house frenzy releasing the first UK acid house record, the ’88 classic ‘Voodoo Ray’ and ‘Pacific State’ and went on to lay down the blueprint for jungle / drum n bass.

Nine albums and 25 years of independence later, he continues to push the boundaries of electronic dance music touring worldwide bringing his “true school” flavour to a world overloaded with pop pap.

Tickets are on sale now for Pangaea Festival, so don’t hang about. See you there our kid!
