Dancing on Ice star Sylvain Longchambon has launched this years ice rink experience at Selfridges Trafford Centre.

The rink, which holds 120 skaters, is truly a winter wonderland taking its cue from Selfridges’ Christmas ‘Storytelling’ theme featuring rich forest greens and sparkling gold bringing the magic of enchantment and fairytales to life.

We caught up with the talented Frenchman to find out what he thinks of the indoor rink and what he’s up to now that Dancing On Ice is no more.

Fairy tale ice rinks and enchanted stories won’t be the only focus of storytelling at Selfridges this Christmas as bespoke gifting will become a key focus – transforming extraordinary products into truly unique gifts.

Choose from engraved perfume bottles and embroidered cashmere scarves, personalized Nutella jars and beautiful baubles – plus the real Santa Sack.

Also both Selfridges Exchange Square and Selfridges Trafford have a range of festive activities, including the world famous ‘Elfridges’ on hand to help with all your needs.

At Selfridges Exchange, Father Christmas will be in store every weekend from 29 November until 21 December. Gift personalisation will be available including monogramming, leather embossing and perfume, wine and spirit bottle engraving from 24 November. Selfridges Trafford will have bottle engraving for the entire month of December and an in-store calligrapher on selected days (15/16, 22/23 November and 13/14 December).

Selfridges Trafford ice rink will be open until 4 January 2015, check out their website for opening times, booking and directions:
