ABC Building is set to unveil the ABC Club, a hybrid workspace, members club and community for freelancers, founders, small teams and creative media professionals within Manchester’s expanding St John’s enterprise and media district.

The club is designed to bring members into the heart of one of the city’s most concentrated media ecosystems, where companies such as the BBC, Versa Studios, Gravity Media, Home Post Productions, Sony and Quay Street Productions operate alongside lifestyle venues including Everyman Cinema, Barry’s Bootcamp, ABC Gallery and St John’s retail operators.

By placing emerging and independent talent alongside established industry names, the club aims to foster connection and collaboration across the production, media and creative sectors.

Members at ABC Club will have access to a mix of work, production and social spaces, alongside a curated programme of talks, workshops and networking events. An ABC Members’ Directory has also been launched to help talent connect with peers and influential figures in production from within the building.

Central to the offering is the ABC Clubhouse, which serves as a private members’ lounge and workspace by day before transitioning into an evening bar. Membership includes shared workspace use, recording and editing facilities, event spaces and communal areas throughout the building, as well as a dedicated on-site concierge, daily coffee and a weekly ABC Aperitif.

Jack Ingall, Commercial Creative Executive at Allied London, said: “ABC Club is an exceptional opportunity. The doors have been opened to the upper floors of a building filled with best-in-class businesses across TV, media, production and post-production. For freelancers and individuals working in these industries, sharing the same front door as these companies is rare.

“We want ABC to sit at the heart of Manchester’s media, creative and production network. You can host people, welcome clients, and benefit from a level of service designed to support you. It’s inspiring to be here, and it has the potential to become a real hub for Manchester’s growing industry.”

The launch reflects the continued shift towards flexible, independent working in the media sector as Manchester strengthens its position as a national centre for production outside London.

The ABC Club is set to open in the spring.
