Chorlton has held a reputation as South Manchester’s coolest suburb for longer than we can remember, and a big reason for that is the nightlife. A restaurant and bar scene so strong you almost don’t need to venture into the city-proper, hospitality competition is strong in this part of town. Opening in 2024, 4one4 looks to bring something different to that landscape, selling itself on making customers “feel at home” while pushing presentation as a key selling point in terms of food and drink.
Starting with the liquids, big sellers here include the mango mocktail — a thirst-quenching sweet concoction that uses fresh mangoes, ice and a secret ingredient. Alternately, opt for a strawberry mocktail, which takes real fruit, a splash of citrus and sparkling soda to make an ideal non-alcoholic pick-you-up. Looking for something altogether richer? How about the KitKat-topped choco blast — creamy chocolate, juicy strawberries and namesake bar. A truly indulgent option, in contrast the Blueberry Blast caps off the exclusive drinks menu with fresh blueberries, ripe strawberries and fizzy water.
As for the eats, 4one4 serves up fusion-focused and grill-based dishes at affordable prices. Like the jerk chicken cheesy melt, which combines Jamaican jerk poultry with gooey melted goodness, fiery Scotch Bonnet peppers and aromatic herbs and spices. Elsewhere, the roasted vegetable melt replaces the meat with caramelised vegetables, and the veggie burger sticks a vegan patty in between toasted bun with salad, veggies and sauces. Finally, the tuna melt caters to seafood lovers, and is arguably the most iconic choice of the lot — a cheesy, fishy sandwich that’s both creamy and tangy. As you would expect, everything is made fresh to order, and, more importantly, comes out of the kitchen with real heart and soul poured into every glass. And that counts for plenty in our eyes.
