Burgerism’s arrival in Piccadilly Gardens marks a clear milestone for the brand — its first move into the city centre after years of building a loyal following across Greater Manchester. What began as a small Salford operation now sits in one of Manchester’s busiest corners, giving long-time fans a central home and introducing newcomers to the stripped-back, flavour-first approach that has defined Burgerism from the start. It’s a straightforward set-up with an emphasis on speed and consistency, staying true to the formula that made the name in the first place.
As with every chain from Five Guys to Maccie’s, the food has become renowned by virtue of its consistency: smashed patties cooked hot and fast until the edges crisp up just enough, with the centre staying soft and juicy.
The ‘Classic’, the ‘Cheesed’ and the ‘Baconed’ still lead the way, built with the same simple mix of cheese, pickles and sauce that keeps things clean and balanced, not to mention the exceptional Freebird chicken sandwiches. Those after something heavier can opt for the double versions, adding that all important heft.
Sides stick to a small but reliable line-up.
