When Buzzy Bee first landed in Wilmslow, queues were practically part of the décor – and for good reason. What began with one red recipe book, a whisk, and a dream has since grown into one of the region’s most beloved bakeries, with loyal locals and visiting sweet-toothed fans returning time and time again for their fix of indulgent, homemade treats.
Founded by pastry chef and Leiths graduate Millie Walter, Buzzy Bee was born out of market stalls and late nights baking in her family kitchen. It all took off when she was joined by sister Lydia – bringing with her a background in sales and marketing and helping build a small, buzzing brand into a full-blown phenomenon. Their Wilmslow HQ is a homely yet stylish bakehouse, fronted by a warm, welcoming counter brimming with cookies, brownies, brookies, banana bread, cupcakes and ice cream.
You’ll find signature creations like their legendary Oreo & Nutella brookies rubbing shoulders with seasonal specials, playful new flavours and classics baked to perfection. Everything is made from scratch, fresh each day, with a real emphasis on quality and care. On warmer days, there’s a dedicated ice cream counter for a double-scoop hit of nostalgia, with flavours like birthday cake or white chocolate and raspberry ready to elevate your dessert game.
Buzzy Bee isn’t just about the bakes, though. It’s about two sisters bringing their vision to life with creativity, graft, and heart – whether it’s hand-decorated cake slices or the community of regulars who’ve been with them since day one. With postal orders flying out weekly across the UK, Wilmslow is where it all began – and it’s still the sweetest place to sample what all the buzz is about.
