Factory Floor

Set inside the sprawling redevelopment of the historic Eckersley Mill complex, Factory Floor’s huge entertainment space forms part of the wider regeneration project turning three of Wigan’s long-derelict industrial buildings which have turned the space into a hub for hospitality, workspaces and modern living.

Following the popularity of neighbouring venues like Feast at the Mills and The Three Mills pub, Factory Floor takes things in a louder, more playful direction. The venue is built around competitive socialising, packing in interactive darts lanes, shuffleboard tables, pool and beer pong, alongside private karaoke rooms for those willing to sacrifice dignity in pursuit of a good evening. The scale of the place is part of the appeal too, with cavernous mill interiors retaining plenty of exposed brick, steelwork and industrial character while embracing the feel of a contemporary gaming bar.

Food-wise, the kitchen leans heavily into crowd-pleasing comfort. Detroit-style pizzas arrive with thick, airy crusts and crispy edges, while burgers and loaded sides keep things suitably indulgent deep into the evening. Behind the bar, there’s a strong mix of cocktails, mocktails and draught beers geared towards groups settling in for the long haul rather than a quick pint before the train home. DJs regularly take over later in the night, pushing the atmosphere firmly beyond casual gaming venue territory and into full-scale weekend destination mode.

Perhaps the biggest surprise, though, is how quickly Wigan itself is becoming part of the conversation when it comes to Greater Manchester nights out. With direct trains from Manchester taking little more than half an hour, Factory Floor feels less like a local curiosity and more like another addition to the region’s growing list of worthwhile after-dark escapes.
