House of Social takes the food hall formula and gives it a sharper edge. Set across two floors, its 12,000 square feet of light-filled space is framed by towering arched windows, a sweeping staircase and just enough polish to match the ambition of the traders inside. Five independent kitchens share the floorplan, each bringing their own flavour and flair while complementing the rest of the line-up. The result is a place that works just as well for a quick solo lunch as it does for a full evening’s grazing with friends.

Days start early here, with breakfast, coffee and grab-and-go options from 8am. By lunch the pace picks up, with office workers, locals and visitors drifting in for everything from wood-fired pizza to handmade dumplings, small plates and bar snacks worth a trip on their own. Come evening, the lights drop, the music lifts, and the bar takes centre stage. Fridays and Saturdays run late, with the upstairs level offering tucked-away seating for those after a little more breathing space.
The location helps. Just steps from HOME and a short walk from both Oxford Road and Deansgate-Castlefield stations, it’s primed for pre-theatre dining, post-work drinks, and leisurely weekend afternoons that have a habit of running on into the night. And while the food is the obvious draw, the building itself is just as much a reason to linger — all soaring ceilings, curved corners and the sort of atmosphere that makes staying for “just one more” all too easy.
House of Social isn’t trying to reinvent the food hall. It’s just doing it with better food, a better bar, and a better reason to stick around.
