Leven

Design-led hotel in a red-brick Canal Street landmark, where home comforts meet sharp city style.

Leven
40 Chorlton Street, Manchester, M1 3HW
0161 359 7900

Housed in a beautifully reimagined former cotton warehouse on the corner of Canal Street and Chorlton Street, Leven blends striking industrial character with an easygoing sense of modern luxury. Timber floors, Crittall windows and original brickwork give a nod to the building’s past, while the interiors lean into texture, comfort and style – all tied together with thoughtful, guest-first design.

This is a hotel that’s built to flex. Whether you’re staying one night or settling in for longer, the rooms are equipped for both. Expect high ceilings, bespoke furniture and a layout that leans more into ‘cool city apartment’ than standard hotel suite. Many come with kitchens or kitchenettes, some with freestanding baths, and all with luxurious natural mattresses and Grown Alchemist products as standard. You’ll also find curated in-room treats, and can even book a private chef if the moment calls for it.

Downstairs, the laidback lobby bar is perfect for a cocktail or coffee depending on the hour, with signature serves like the blueberry-infused Blue Moon or a matured take on a Negroni. There’s also plenty of space to settle in and work, chat, or people-watch. Next door, Maya brings elevated modern European plates to a light-filled brasserie and stylish basement dining room – an ideal start to a night out, or destination in itself.
