For many the Altrincham department store Rackhams, at one time part of Harrods, was the lynchpin of the town’s shopping centre. But times change, things move on, and with developers Bruntwood transforming this corner of the town into the Stamford Quarter, it means there’s a Nell’s Pizza to get involved with.
And praise the lord for that. This airy spot, with floor to ceiling glass surrounding you, also has a little ace up its sleeve with a sun-drenched terrace to the side. Living walls also make this feel like you’re enclosed in a little corner of nature just a moment from the bustle of the shops.
Of course, the usual stellar standard of pizza and cocktails is on display indoors, from its New York-inspired slices – the infamous Do You Roni Honey, Original Sausage Material, the Barbie and Ken, and the veggie-centric Magic Number – to their iconic margs, alcohol-free cocktails, great visiting beers and delectable ice cream sandwiches. There’s also DJs on a weekend bringing the good vibes.
