Swig started life small — very small. If you’ve ever grabbed a coffee from Betsy, the tiny van parked up by the Chorlton Ees, you’ll already know what owner Kai is about: properly good coffee, friendly chats, and a calm little moment before a walk in the woods. It built a loyal following for a reason.
Now Swig has made the leap into bricks and mortar with its first-ever shop, affectionately known as Swig HQ. It’s a natural next step rather than a reinvention — the same thoughtful approach, just with more room to linger. Expect well-executed espresso and latte art that’s clearly the work of someone who really cares.
Beans are sourced from respected roasters including Kickback Coffee, and the offering keeps things tight and considered. There are bakes on hand for pairing, but the focus stays firmly on the cup — clean flavours, balanced brews, and consistency above all else.
The space itself is understated, designed to feel welcoming without overthinking it. Whether you’re stopping by on the way somewhere else or making coffee the main event, Swig HQ captures what made the van special in the first place — just with a front door and a bit more elbow room.
A quiet success story, brewed slowly and done properly.
