The Salmon of Knowledge’s Media City outpost brings everything people love about the pub into a bigger, bolder setting. Following successful outings in the Northern Quarter and Didsbury Village, this latest chapter keeps the same formula firmly intact: warm hospitality, faultless pours and an atmosphere that works just as well for a quiet pint as it does for a full-on singalong.
At the bar, Guinness is treated with the reverence it deserves, joined by classic Irish ale Caffrey’s, rotating pours from Franciscan Well in Cork, and the occasional guest appearance from Murphy’s. There’s also a deep bench of Irish whiskeys, a handful of Irish-leaning cocktails, and enough stout and ale options to keep regulars happily debating their next round.
Music and sport are central to the rhythm of the place. Expect live bands and acoustic sessions several nights a week, alongside wall-to-wall coverage of everything from football and rugby to the kind of fixtures you didn’t realise you cared about until they’re on the big screen.
Food comes courtesy of The Last Stop, whose menu leans into comfort with confidence. Think excellent burgers, chicken parms, gyros, full breakfasts and cult-favourite Irish spice bags — skin-on fries tossed in house seasoning with buttermilk chicken, fried onions and chillies. It’s generous, no-nonsense scran designed to soak up stout and keep the session going.
