The Northern Quarter’s Bench Self Made Gallery is set to make its creative mark on the city this December, hosting a series of events, exhibitions and workshops in collaboration with some of Manchester’s finest makers and creators.
A self-made success in its own right, Bench. has evolved from a group of friends selling their t-shirt designs in Manchester to a global lifestyle brand. So we recognise and admire the determination and commitment needed to take on the world. Self-Made sets out to explore, document and inspire and to shine the spotlight on those who deserve it, who always follow their own path.
True to the brand’s Self Made philosophy, the Gallery will welcome musicians, creatives, artists and DJs to use the space as an artistic hub and platform for their work.
The gallery has also launched the first of a series of educational partnerships briefing Salford University’s advertising students to devise an engaging concept to promote the space and its content that could result in a live campaign.

Creative networking group Northern Digitals will host their fifth BLAB Mini at the Self Made Gallery on the evening of Tuesday 11th December, a fun, social event where six talented and influential creatives have 15 minutes to share their thoughts and inspirations in a quick-fire presentation on ‘Things I’ve seen.’ Tickets are available from here with proceeds going to Forever Manchester.

This is closely followed by international design college Shillington’s end of year show, in which students will design a poster on the theme ‘Sell Yourself’ with the aim of inviting the local creative community into the gallery to view their work.
The new year will see the Self Made Gallery go from strength to strength, developing partnerships with creative students including styling, fashion and photography, plus the much anticipated Self Made competition winner exhibition starting on the 7th January.
