Club de Padel announces plans to relocate Manchester club, offers free sessions 'to all'

Club de Padel has confirmed that it will relocate from its Deansgate Square home, marking a major step in the next phase of growth for the padel club and lifestyle brand.

The move follows developer Renaker’s plans to expand its skyscraper district across the site, prompting the club to close its original Manchester venue while it prepares a new location set to open later this year.

Launched in 2023, Club de Padel quickly established itself as the city centre’s first outdoor sports and wellness destination, attracting more than 100,000 visitors in its debut year and drawing interest from national and international media.

Since opening, the club has built a broader community around sport and wellbeing, partnering with Good Sauna to introduce a Finnish sauna experience, teaming up with MADE Running to host one of Manchester’s most popular weekly run clubs, donating school-holiday court time and coaching to children’s charity Wood Street Mission, and hosting brand activations for the likes of Adidas, REFY and Blank Street Coffee.

The brand has also expanded to Sheffield’s Neepsend district and is now working on several new UK locations, including an upgraded Manchester club.

Details of the new site are being kept under wraps, but the team say it will offer indoor and outdoor courts, enhanced social and wellness spaces, and an expanded programme of events.

The founders said: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built here in Manchester — bringing padel to the city centre for the first time and introducing tens of thousands of people to the sport during our time on Deansgate.”

They added: “But this site was never meant to be permanent, and we’ve been limited in what we can build here, so the time is right to move on, grow and improve. We’ve learned a huge amount from our time in Manchester and from opening our second club in Sheffield last year, and we’re excited to reveal the locations of our new sites — including the new Manchester club — and begin the next phase.

“In the meantime, we want to thank everyone who has made this club so special, and invite them to enjoy a free game of padel on us.”

To mark the transition, the club is offering free padel sessions between 9 and 14 January. Players should book via the Playtomic app as normal and will be refunded on arrival.

Existing bookings during this period will also be refunded. The Deansgate Square site will officially close on 14 January to begin the relocation process.
