Drama Call and adidas are dropping another Manchester-designed Superstar II

The third Superstar II “Drama” lands in black and white, with a limited Northern Quarter pop-up before its wider release.

Drama Call and adidas Originals are back together again, and this time they’ve gone full monochrome.

The Manchester streetwear brand has revealed its third Superstar II “Drama” with adidas Originals, following on from two previous drops that cemented the collaboration as one of the city’s most talked-about footwear link-ups. The new pair arrives in a clean black and white colourway, carrying the same local pride that has run through the partnership from the start.

Proudly billed as ‘Designed in Manneh’, the latest Superstar II “Drama” takes one of adidas’ most recognisable silhouettes and gives it the Drama Call treatment. The brand’s star emblem appears across the heel tab, tongue, sole and shell-toe, with additional details between the Three Stripes and a mirrored silver hangtag attached to the shoe.

It’s a fairly stripped-back pair compared with some of the more colourful or concept-heavy sneaker drops doing the rounds, but that is probably the point. Drama Call has always worked best when it leans into directness – heavyweight tracksuits, graphic hits, Manchester references, and pieces for the people who already know. This drop sits in that lane.

Founded in Manchester in 2017 by Charlie Bowes, Drama Call has become one of the city’s strongest streetwear names, building a proper following through its own collections and collaborations with the likes of Manchester United and adidas. The brand’s “Trackeh” pieces helped define its identity early on, but its adidas work has pushed it into a much bigger conversation.

“This project is about celebrating Manchester properly – its attitude, its people, and the creativity that comes from the city,” said Charlie Bowes, Drama Call founder. “Bringing that together once again with such an iconic adidas silhouette felt like the best way to give back to those that have been with us since day one.”

“The Superstar is one of those silhouettes that means something across generations, and we wanted this pair to feel unmistakably Drama Call.”

Before the wider release, a limited run of the third adidas Originals x Drama Call drop will be available at a dedicated Manchester pop-up from Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May. The pop-up will take place at 70 Tib Street in the Northern Quarter, with further details expected to be shared by adidas and Drama Call in the lead-up to the weekend.

The wider release follows on Monday 1 June, when the Superstar II “Drama” will be available for £110 via dramacall.com, the CONFIRMED app, adidas stores and selected retailers including END., Offspring, Footpatrol, Dover Street Market and Sneakersnstuff.

As ever with these things, if you want a pair, the pop-up is probably where you want to be. And if the last few Drama Call drops are anything to go by, there’ll be plenty of people thinking exactly the same thing.
