If you’ve walked through the NQ over the last couple of weeks, you’ll have noticed that the Richard Goodhall gallery is no more and there’s a new kid on the block – Rivet & Hide – and it looks fantastic.
We popped in to see what it’s all about…
Saturday 23rd March sees the gang from Rivet & Hide officially open their second store in Manchester, and it’s been a long 5-year process to get there. From establishing an online store in 2012, owner Danny Hodgson took the plunge and opened his first bricks and mortar presence in Central London in 2014.
Having built up a community of people with an obsession with the very best of luxury menswear, they became established as one of the most unique independent clothing stores around. A move up to Manchester (and the NQ) seems like a natural step, ingratiating themselves into an area already rich in independent fashion operators.
So what do they do? Well, Rivet & Hide pride themselves on being a destination for the highest quality raw selvedge denim around, working with the best denim mills of Japan to provide the highest quality products imaginable that will last for years.
They also offer an authentic range of high-grade shirting, jackets, boots, wallets, and even eyewear to complement the denim. Inspired by vintage American and modern interpretations of classic style, each collection aims to pay assiduous attention to construction details from the 40’s and 50’s.
They say that they offer “Garments built to last and age with distinction.”
So there you have it. Go on in, say hi, have a look around and see what they offer. Rivet & Hide will be open from Saturday 23rd March.
