The South Block has finally completed construction over at the KAMPUS Garden Neighbourhood on Aytoun Street, and it’s looking absolutely gorgeous.

KAMPUS is a collection of old and new buildings offering a melting pot of architectural styles, building on a rich cultural heritage, making use of historic buildings that lay derelict for years, right next to the famous Canal Street in Manchester’s Gay Village and just minutes from Piccadilly Station.

These 1 & 2-bedroom apartments are full of light, styled by Dezeen-favourite YOUTH Studio and fully furnished by Conran. Which means you’ll get beautiful tables, chairs, sofas and more that you just won’t find in any other rental apartment (and which you won’t find on the high street, either).

Much like its sister North Block, it’s a bold and impressive addition to the Manchester skyline, with the added bonus of terraces up top and a brand-new public square below that’s set to be home to the new Kampus General Store when it opens soon.

There are three roof terraces in South Block, all of them open to residents. One connects the lounge, private dining room and the cinema; while another is dedicated to yoga and is perfect for taking in city views while you hone Sun Salutation A.

The Podium, meanwhile, is a lush outdoor terrace that’s perfect for BBQs, chilling out on sunny days, and for the resident-only events that KAMPUS have planned.

‘The Podium’

As with all the apartments at KAMPUS, you’re only minutes away from the rest of the community: from the canal side gardens, to the Bungalow – home to a rotating list of pop-up restaurants, street food and events.

The Kampus gardens and Bungalow are the central feature of the community and are permanently open to the public, with the Bungalow operating as a village hall for pop-up events and community groups.

This week saw the grand opening of the brand-new Nell’s pizza restaurant and bar, home of the now famous 22” pies and slices, and featuring a standalone ‘Slice Bar’ where you can pop in for a quick slice all day and late into the evening.

Also planned for early 2022 is the arrival of independent sourdough and Viennoiserie bakery – Pollen – who will be relocating their pastry team from Ancoats to KAMPUS and launching an expanded brunch menu throughout the week.

Residents at Kampus will have access to a brand new gym with free weights, cardio and core equipment and a yoga studio, a 24 hour concierge service and amenities from dog walking, dry cleaning, PT sessions and yoga, a private cinema, lounge, dining room and a number of terraces. What’s more, residents can move into their brand-new apartment with no deposit to pay.
